About the release

As Autotask transitions to a more agile development process, you will see smaller but more frequent releases. This release includes Integrated Customer Billing (early access program only), Datto Networking integration, and Common Look and Feel updates.

New Features

Integrated Customer Billing

NOTE  At this time, we are enabling Integrated Customer Billing to select partners as part of our early access program. It will be made available to all partners at a later date.

Autotask customers who use other Kaseya modules can choose to bill their clients for all Kaseya modules through Autotask. This feature is made available through the integration of Kaseya modules with KaseyaOne.

Many Kaseya customers have implemented more than one Kaseya product or "module." MSP clients are usually billed for these services on a monthly schedule: by the user, device, IP address, etc.

For Integrated Customer Billing, Autotask is generating an invoice from the billing metrics of other Kaseya modules that are integrated with KaseyaOne. The following Kaseya modules currently support consolidated billing:

  • Audit Suite
    • Network Detective
    • VulScan
    • Compliance Manager
    • Cyber Hawk
  • Security Suite
    • RocketCyber
    • Graphus
    • Passly
    • DarkWeb ID

The Kaseya modules collect billing metrics, that is, how many active users, devices, IP addresses, etc. were active at a client site on a specific day.

Once a day, billing data from other modules is transferred to Autotask via the KaseyaOne API. This service is fully automated and usually runs after midnight. The submitted billing metrics update tables that keep track of how many units of measure (users, devices, IP addresses...) for which Kaseya modules each end client used.

In Autotask, the billable units are associated with a recurring service contract and a service and invoiced in the normal way.

  • Autotask tracks the changes in the number of units from day to day or month to month.
  • Your clients receive a consolidated bill for all their Kaseya modules. You can process the payments in Autotask or transfer the invoice to an external accounting application.

In KaseyaOne, the following Cooper Insights for Autotask keep you updated:

  • Activate Integrated Customer Billing with Autotask
  • Integrated Customer Billing Available for New Organization

Datto Networking Integration

The new integration between Datto Networking and Autotask will allow you to manage selected alerts from Datto Networking in your Autotask database.

The integration is set up in the Datto Networking Manager. After authentication, you will map your Datto Networks to Autotask companies and select which Datto Networking alerts will automatically generate alert tickets in Autotask.

Alert ticket fields are pre-populated based on the editable settings in the system Datto Networking Alert ticket category. Autotask workflow rules can use the Created from DNet Alert condition. The Created from DNet Alert condition is available for filtering and display in Autotask widgets and grids.

In KaseyaOne, a Cooper Insight has been added which will list any Datto Networking Alert tickets that are still open after 7 days.

Common Look and Feel Updates

To create a uniform look between all the Kaseya products you use, most of the grids and many of the icons you see throughout Autotask have received minor updates.
